LABIN PRO improves establishment and vigor in ALMOND NURSERIES

Evaluation of the efficacy of the product LABIN PRO in improving the vigour and establishment of almond trees (Prunus dulcis)

Trial

Location: Soses, Lleida, Spain.
Crop: Prunus dulcis (Almond tree). Commercial nursery of Almond trees in the area of Lleida, Spain, where the necessary fertilisation plan is provided to supply the FU required by this crop. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the product LABIN PRO not as a fertilisation saving but as a way to improve the establishment of the seedlings when they are grafted; with the application of LABIN PRO we want to reduce the period of development and establishment, so that more seedlings can be transplanted in less time. At the time of grafting, the seedling has a vegetative stop, with the application of the product we will see if we can reduce it.
Dates: April-June 2022.
Applications: A simple application of the product LABIN PRO was made just after grafting the seedlings directly in the nursery. We applied 4 L/ha in sprinkler irrigation on 22 April 2022, treating an area of 120 m2.

Conclusions

The first visual observation/evaluation was carried out 15 days after the application of the product, together with the agronomist technicians, we evaluated at a purely visual level and concluded that externally, no differences were observed between the treated plants and the testimony plants, but when the seedling was taken out, the quantity of roots of the treated plants vs. the testimony plants was clearly superior. More root quantity, see pictures 2 and 3 below;

The second visual observation/evaluation was carried out 45 days after the application of the product, together with the agronomist technicians, we assessed at a purely visual level and concluded that the difference in growth and vigour of the plants treated with LABIN PRO 45 days after grafting and vegetative start was clearly observed.
